NOA Urges Mothers to Embrace Exclusive Breastfeeding for Better Health Outcomes

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) Kaduna State Directorate, has urged stakeholders particularly women of childbearing age to promote and encourage exclusive breastfeeding practices in their communities.

This was contained in a statement on Monday in Kaduna by Mrs Linda Michael of the Media and Communication Unit of NOA Kaduna Directorate, on behalf of the State Director, Mr Danjuma Makama.

The call, was in
commemoration of the World Breastfeeding Week 2025.

Makama, emphasized the benefits of breastfeeding to both infants and mothers, highlighting its role in reducing infant mortality and fostering long-term health.

By promoting breastfeeding, Makama said the NOA envisage improvement in the health and wellbeing of children and mothers in Kaduna State.

"The agency's efforts are geared towards creating a supportive environment that encourages women to breastfeed exclusively, with social support and respect for women being key to better health outcomes for children.

The state director, therefore, restated the agency's commitment to raising awareness about the importance of breastfeeding and promoting a culture that supports nursing mothers.(NAN)
