The Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Jaji has urged residents not to panick over movement of troops and military equipment as it begins a week-long intensive training for students.
The college’s Public Relations Officer, Lt- Col Ajemasu Jingina gave the advice in a statement issued on Monday in Kaduna.
Jingina said the field training exercise, code named Ubiaj-Isin, will hold from Nov. 29 to Dec. 5, along Jaji-Wusono general area in Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna state.
He said there will be sounds of explosives and small arms fire, and urged people living around the area to remain calm, but keep off the training zone.
According to him, the exercise is designed to assess student officers of Junior Course 94 on various aspects of leadership, tactics, and command and control in all phases of conventional and asymmetric warfare.
He added that the exercise would be used to evaluate students’ understanding of counter terrorism and counter insurgency operations.
Jingina disclosed that the college will hold an outreach programme at Anguwan Lawyer to enhance its relationship with the civil populace. (NAN)
Adeleke suspends Osun election commission chair, members
Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun has ordered the immediate suspension of the Chairman and members of the State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC).
This is contained in a statement issued the Secretary to Osun State Government, Mr Tesleem Igbalaye, on Monday.

Igbalaye said the decision for the suspension was sequel to several petitions bordering on alleged financial impropriety and abuse of office brought against the chairman and members of his commission.
“Gov. Adeleke has directed the immediate suspension of the Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC), Mr Segun Oladitan.
“Others are Mr Yusuf Oyeniran, Alhaja Suibat Adubi, Prince Yinka Ajiboye, Mrs Abosede Omibeku,Mr Dosu Gidigbi and Mr Wahab Adewoyin.
“This suspension is sequel to several petitions bothering on financial impropriety, dereliction of duty, absenteeism and abuse of office against the said Chairman and members of the Commission.
“Pending the outcome of investigation , the Secretary of the Commission shall hold forth in running the affairs of the commission,” the state government said.
