Alhaji Aminu Balele, member representing Kurfi/Dutsinma Federal Constituency, has supported his constituents with N50 million, to complement their daily expenses during the holy month of Ramadan.

Malam Babangida Abdullahi, a member of the distribution committee, disclosed this on Sunday, at one of the cash distribution centres in Kurfi Local Government Area.

Abdullahi said that the cash assistance came a few days after the lawmaker distributed food items to the constituents.

He said that the food items distributed included rice, maize, millet, spaghetti and other staple foods to residents across the constituency.

According to him, the cash assistance is meant to ease Ramadan shopping for the households in his constituency.

He said that hundreds of households across the two local government areas had received cash assistance of between N20,000 and N100,000.

Abdullahi said that the amount was based on the family’s needs, economic status and size of the household.

“Here in Kurfi, the house-to-house cash assistance was distributed at Nasarawa, Gabas; Kasuwa; Kofar Arewa and Filin Daudu.

“We will continue to distribute it until we cover all the target beneficiaries.

“This assistance will go a long way in easing the financial demands on these families during this holy month of Ramadan, this is why Alhaji Balele Kurfi, made it a tradition to carry out this gesture every Ramadan,” he said.

Abdullahi said that the assistance was being distributed simultaneously in Dutsinma and Kurfi, as there was another committee in Dustinma that was carrying out a similar activity.

“Prior to this cash assistance, the lawmaker brought 3,000 bags of rice and 27,000 cartons of spaghetti, which were also distributed here in Kurfi,” he said.

Some beneficiaries that spoke on the gesture include Malama Salame and Muhammad Lawal, who received N30,000 each.

Salame said that she would invest the money in her kuli-kuli business, while Lawal said that the money would complement his Ramadan expenses.

They expressed appreciation to the legislator for the assistance and other programmes and projects undertaken by the lawmaker in the constituency, since he assumed office in 2023.
