Fed. neuro-psychiatric hospital inaugurates 8 projects in Kaduna

The Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Barnawa-Kaduna on Friday inaugurated eight projects as part of efforts to boost its operations.

The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. A’ishatu Yusha’u-Armiya’u said the projects were part of the achievements of two years in office.

She said that upon resumption in office on Aug. 2, 2022, she embraced a mandate with great enthusiasm, focus and determination.

Yusha’u-Armiya’u said this was in line with the strategic vision she crafted as captured in the hospital’s strategic plan (2022-2026) .

According to her, it serves as a compass and social compact with Nigerians, in her quest to deliver the highest quality of health care to the clients.

She added, “Already, the fruits of this effort are evident in the leaps we have made in lying a solid foundation of result-based productivity/

”This is also in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President as highlighted in the Performance Management System (PMS).”

According to Yusha’u-Armiya’u, she has designed an accountability matrix, which defines the duties of each staff in the hospital within the overall organisational organogram.

She said, ”I am happy to state that each department was able to develop its own departmental organogram.

” Each department designed its organogram, with it in place, the implementation of our strategic plan presents no difficulty whatsoever,in terms of reconciling our vision with the governing philosophy of the president.”

The chief medical director said for the two years anniversary, she inaugurated eight milestones which included: A new female ward and amenity, upgraded ECT/ EEG, Queen Amina hall and champions arena for sports.

Others included: Wellness villa, Dater 2, Hilux vehicle for community outreach and a road network.

  Yusha’u-Armiya’u said: ” These feats are not achievements, they are part of the milestone we are recording that will culminate in the achievements we shall be packaging as part of our end- of-tenure successes after four years.”

She added that her focus would be consolidated on the foundation laid in the first year.

Yusha’u-Armiya’u appreciated the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Ali Pate, Minister of State for Health, Dr Tunji Alausa for unwavering support given to the hospital.

She added that their quest to make the hospital a gateway for excellence in the delivery of quality healthcare services to Nigerians was coming through.

” As I conclude, I’m happy to place on record that our outlook is by all accounts excellent. FNPH Kaduna is going places, as we ventured into the emerging opportunities.”

In another remark, the Kaduna State Coordinator, National Health Insurance Authority, Tanimu Aminu, said the efforts of the hospital were worthy of emulation by other health facilities.

Also speaking, the District Head of Barnawa, Kabiru Zubairu, commended the hospital for its sustained good work to bolster healthcare provision in the state.

In another remark, a friend to the hospital,Dr Chris Waga, appreciated the chief medical director for being a leader for being result-oriented’

He said, ” She is a leader driven by a vision to mobilise resources, both human and financial towards achieving a goal that is well set.”

Waga called on the government at all levels to invest by buying equipment that would help in saving the lives of the citizens.

” Government should invest because when we have citizens that are healthy, then we have a country that is productive.” (NAN)
