Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Gumi, has demanded that Chief Malcolm Emokiniovo Omirhobo retracts the false and defamatory allegations he made against him and tender an unreserved public apology.
He described the claims as malicious, misleading, damaging to his reputation, and capable of inciting religious tension in the country.
Gumi stated that he has always advocated for peace, unity, mutual respect and national cohesion, and has never engaged in or supported any act that threatens the stability or harmony of Nigeria.
He called on Chief Omirhobo to issue the retraction and apology through the same platforms used in spreading the allegations within 48 hours of this statement.
He said failure to comply would leave him with no option but to initiate legal proceedings for defamation of character and for actions capable of provoking religious crisis in Nigeria, stressing that the matter would be pursued to its logical conclusion within the bounds of the law.
