Pulse.ng : Army Hands Over Newly Built Tudun Biri Community Primary School to Kaduna Government

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, on Tuesday formally handed over the Tudun Biri Community Primary School, constructed by the Nigerian Army to the Kaduna State Government.

The ceremony took place on 18 November 2025, with the COAS represented by the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Nigerian Army, and Commander Sector 1 Joint Task Force Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed Wase.

Speaking at the event, the COAS said the Nigerian Army places high value on Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities, describing them as essential non-kinetic approaches to strengthening relationships with host communities in areas of military operations.

He urged residents to continue sharing timely and credible information that would assist security agencies in sustaining peace and ensuring a safer environment.

Lieutenant General Shaibu noted that the commissioning and handover of the school, equipped with desks and seats, a furnished laboratory and computer room, staff room, head teacher’s and principal’s offices, pupils’ toilets, as well as solar panels and batteries for the computer room reflects the Army’s commitment to non-kinetic strategies in tackling the nation’s complex security challenges.

He also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his strategic guidance and consistent support to the Nigerian Army. He reaffirmed the unwavering loyalty of officers and soldiers to the President and to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Representing the Governor of Kaduna State, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Sule Shuaibu, commended the Nigerian Army for the gesture and for delivering a school with a modern architectural design that will enhance learning conditions for pupils.

A community leader, Malam Balarabe Garba Sarkin, emphasised the central role of education in community development and thanked the COAS for giving the school a new and befitting look. He appealed to residents to maintain the structure and use the facilities responsibly.

The event featured the official handover of the keys, a guided tour of the facility, and a group photograph to mark the occasion.
