Members of Direct Regular Course three of the Nigerian Army, on Saturday donated mobility aids to wounded in action soldiers at the 44 Nigeria Army Reference Hospital Kaduna.
The President of the Course, retired Brig-Gen. Jeremiah Faransa presented the items to the hospital’s Chief Medical Director (CMD), Brig-Gen. Godwin Ogoh, during a visit the facility as part of activities to mark their 2nd annual reunion.
The News Agency of NIgeria (NAN) reports that the mobility aids donated included; wheelchairs and crouches.
NAN also reports that members of the course toured the hospital facilities and interacted with the wounded in action soldiers to give them courage and a sense of hope.
Faransa said the purpose of the visit was to show appreciation and support to the hospital, which he said, had played a significant role in soldiers’ life.
According to him, the aim is to make a positive impact and demonstrate gratitude, especially to the wounded soldiers, who have made sacrifices for their fatherland.
“We donated equipment, including mobility aids that will aid in the recovery process, enabling soldiers with mobility issues to move around and access various wards,” he said.
Faransa added that the efforts and sacrifices being made by the wounded was to ensure safety and security “of our country.”
He expressed confidence in Nigeria’s capabilities and resilience, assuring that: “By God’s grace, the current challenges will come to an end.”
Earlier, the CMD expressed gratitude for the donation, saying: “They may seem small but are actually crucial for the hospital’s ability to provide care and services to wounded soldiers.
“These aids will not only be used within the hospital but will also be given to soldiers to take home to enhance their quality of life.”
While thanking the donors on behalf of the hospital staff and the wounded soldiers, Ogoha also appreciated their generosity and thoughtfulness.
