The attention of the office of the Honourable Minister of Defence, His Excellency Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, has been drawn to a malicious and false report circulating about the election result from Babura Kofar Arewa Polling Unit 001.
Mati Ali, PA Media & Publicity to the Honourable Minister of Defence, said this in a statement.
Ali said the claim is false, untrue, and deliberately misleading, and wished to categorically state that the report is nothing but the handiwork of mischief makers seeking to distort facts and tarnish the good image of the Honourable Minister.
He added that the Honourable Minister's actual polling unit is Babura Kofar Arewa Primary School Polling Unit 002, where His Excellency personally cast his vote.
Ali noted that the authentic result, as duly released by INEC and announced by the Returning Officer, confirms that the Honourable Minister secured a clear and convincing victory in his polling unit in favour of the APC, with APC scoring 188 votes and PDP scoring 164 votes.
Ali also noted that the official result clearly shows the commitment and support of the people of Babura to the All Progressives Congress.
He urged the general public, party members, and the media to disregard the false reports in circulation and place reliance only on the authentic results as declared by INEC.
