Nadada assumes duty as AIG Zone 14, Katsina

Mr Umar Nadada has formally assumed duty as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 14, comprising Kaduna and Katsina States, with headquarters in Katsina.

The Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Umar Muhammad, stated this in a statement on Tuesday in Katsina.

He said that Nadada was a professional officer with a strong commitment to effective policing, crime prevention, promotion of public trust and confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.

The PPRO said that Nadada, a seasoned police officer, had served in various operational, investigative, and administrative capacities across the country.

He said that the new AIG hailed from Rano Local Government of Kano State and held a B.Sc in Applied Biology from the Bayero University, Kano, in 1989, and a Master’s in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (MLCJ 2010) from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and underwent professional training at the Nigeria Police Academy, Annex, Kaduna.

Muhammad said that Nadada rose through the ranks up to the rank of the AIG, and served in different capacities including the Commissioner of Police in Katsina and Nasarawa States, and AIG Department of Research and Planning, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
