Residents of Kabala West community in Kaduna on Wednesday received bags of rice distributed by Usman Shugaba as part of activities marking the Christmas celebration.
Speaking during the distribution, Jamilu Hashim, Personal Assistant to CP Usman Shugaba, the Chief Personal Security Officer to President Bola Tinubu, said Shugaba is a man driven by compassion and a strong desire to see people happy.
Hashim noted that Shugaba’s gesture was not limited to festive seasons alone, but reflected his consistent commitment to supporting the less privileged, especially at critical times when people are in need of alms.
He added that the rice distribution was aimed at easing the burden on families during the Christmas season and strengthening bonds of unity within the community.
He wished the beneficiaries a peaceful Christmas celebration and called on them to continue praying for peace, good health and progress in Kaduna State and the country at large.
Receiving the items on behalf of the community, Mr. Ciroma Jonathan Auta, the Village Head of Kabala West (South), said the area had never witnessed such humanitarian support in recent times.
He prayed for God’s blessings, protection and continued success for Shugaba and his associates for remembering the community during the festive period.
Auta also called on residents to ensure peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians, stressing that unity remained the foundation for development and security.
He frowned at drug abuse and stealing among youths, urging parents and community leaders to guide young people towards responsible and productive lifestyles.
One of the beneficiaries, Victoria Musa, described the gesture as timely, saying the rice would help her family celebrate Christmas with joy.
She added that the support had reduced the financial pressure on households and thanked Shugaba for his kindness and generosity.

Other beneficiaries, Jerry and Kazah, expressed gratitude, noting that the assistance demonstrated genuine love for the people at the grassroots.

Another beneficiary, Mary Monday, also thanked Shugaba, praying that God would reward him abundantly and inspire others to support the needy during festive seasons.
