NSE Confers Fellowship Honours on DICON DG, 210 others

In recognition of his immense contributions to engineering and the sterling leadership style that triggered innovation in the the area of Research and Development (R&D), the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has on Monday 18 November 2024 conferred on the Director General of the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) Maj.-Gen. Aniedi Edet with the prestigious award of Fellowship Honours.
This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday in Kaduna by Maj. Haruna Mohammed Sani, the Deputy Director Army Publi Relations of DICON.
The statement reads;
Speaking during the event at Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Special Guest of Honour Engr Victor Bandele, FNSE who is the Deputy Managing Director, Deepwater Asset Total Energies EP Nigeria Limited, congratulated the conferees for their exceptional and extraordinary prowess in the engineering field adding that the conferment represented the pinnacle of achievement for any engineer.
Engr Bandele further urged the awardees to use their ideas to contribute to the infrastructure and economic development of Nigeria.
Making the conferment, the NSE President Engr Margaret Oguntala charged the awardees to uphold the highest standard of professionalism and ethics while serving as role models to the next generation of engineers.
Giving the vote of thanks on behalf of other awardees, Maj.-Gen. Edet commended the NSE for finding them worthy of the award.
He affirmed that engineers held the keys to driving the society forward through innovative solutions.
A total of 211 engineers benefited with the Fellowship Honours including senior military officers.
Some of them were, Maj.-Gen. Babatunde Alaya, the Commander Command Engineering Depot Kaduna, and Brig.-Gen. Moyosore Akin-Ojo, the Commander 41 Engineers Brigade 1 Division Nigerian Army, Kaduna.
Major highlight of the event was the launching of Nigerian Engineer Magazine titled "Professional Ethics in Engineering Practice".
