Amb. Ojong Agbor, a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River, has described his conferment with a honorary doctorate degree by American Management University, California, as a call to serve humanity.
Agbor stated this shortly after receiving the degree at the Great Achievers Summit and Award of Excellence 2024 in Abuja on Saturday.
The event was organised by Great Achievers Initiative for Youth and Community Development, led by Dr Hillary Akpua.
Agbor was recognised, along with eight others, for his outstanding work in pioneering leadership and community development.
He stated that the recognition was an opportunity for him to work harder, touch more lives, and keep impacting positively on society.
“I won’t take this recognition for granted. It’s an opportunity to work harder; an opportunity to touch more lives and expand the good work I have been doing,” he said.
Akpua had said at the event, that Agbor has contributed immensely to the development of Cross River through peaceful engagements with various stakeholders to foster peace and unity.
Other awardees at the event included Joy Osazuwa, Mr Okonkwo Christian, Chief Patrick Adilo, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed, Mr Mathew Ezeouyia, Mr Yusuf Adado, Nnagoziwom Chukwueto, and Mr Yusha’u Umar.
