The personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kaduna Zone RS1, on Wednesday holds valedictory session for the outgoing Zonal Commanding Officer(ZCO) , Dr Godwin Omiko.
The valedictory session was in honour of ZCO who has been transferred to Ilorin Kwara State as the Zonal Commanding Officer after serving three years as ZCO Kaduna.
During the valedictory session the Sector Commander Katsina State , Corps Commander , Mr Ibrahim Bazama read out some of the achievement the outgoing ZCO achieved during his tour of duty in Kaduna Zone.
Bazama said during the ZCO three years in Kaduna Zone he initiated the yearly zone Ember Month sensitazation campaigns .
He also promoted better road use by instituting various intervention patrols.
He added that during the period under review he ensure that effective deployment of officer and marshals to mount critical corridors for effective and efficient rescue operations.
He also lead to the creation of additional commands to improve corps visibility within Zone RS1 Kaduna.
Bazama said there was robust surveillance activities to check the excesses of staff while on Patrol and other related activities.
He also ensure that Joint special patrols with sister agencies and also improved enforcement drive in critical offences as well as offenders and offences.
He explained that in capacity building in the zone said "Omiko as an astute administrator and qualified academician whose experience transverse beyond the shores of Federal Road Safety.
He has improved the capacity of staff in the following areas, Instituted quarterly capacity building workshops for staff across the Zone.
He also conducted various retreat for commanding officers in Zone RS1 Kaduna.
He said there was quarterly zonal operators meeting as a platform to review the activities of commanding officers and prompt attendance to Weekly In-house lectures by staff across the zone.
He said on engagement with special marshal in all activities of the Zone such as management meetings, zonal operators meeting and quarterly durbar among others.
He added that the yearly special marshals sectorial workshop is held in all the four Sector Commands within the Zone.
Earlier the Corps Commander , Kaduna Sector Command, Mr Kabir Nadabo who spoke on behalf four sector commander lauds the outgoing ZCO we enjoyed working with you in the last three years.
Nadabo pray to God to reward him abundantly in service to the nation and pray for his success to his new place he was posted.
In his remarks Dr Omiko appreciate the gesture , " We have task ahead which is to continue doing our best to reduce road traffic crashes.
He charged them to alway be dedicated to their work at all time, stay focused and you should know you have a mandate.
"Make sure our road are safe and alway be positive in all you do.
"The Cooperate mandate of FRSC should always be your first call . "Omiko said.
Present during the valedictory session are Nigeria Army, NDLEA, NSCDC , Correctional Service, Immigration Services KASTELEA among others.
