NDA Commandant’s wife donates essential commodities to orphans

The wife of the Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Mrs. Ruth Ochai, on Friday, donated essential commodities to orphans and three primary schools in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Mrs Ochai, who is also Coordinator of NDA Officers Wives Association (NDAOWA), organised the outreach to mark her birthday, so as inspire hope and spread love where it is needed most.

Mrs Ochai was represented by the  Deputy Coordinator of NDAOWA, Mrs. Khadijah Abdulkadir, who led members of the association to the selected primary schools.

The orphans were selected from Hayatul Islam School, Universal Basic Education (UBE) Likera Kutungari, and UBE Gidan Dogo.

Each of the orphans received a package containing rice, sugar, garri, and soft drinks to the orphans.

She said that the engagement was to spread love and laughter, and encourage the young lads to feel confident and have hope for the future.

“This noble gesture underscores Mrs. Ochai’s unwavering commitment to community service and her profound love for humanity,” Mrs Abdulkadir said.

The team also engaged with the children, offering words of encouragement and spreading warmth and cheer.

“There is no better way to celebrate life than by sharing love and joy with those who are most in need. Today, we are reminded that kindness and compassion can light up even the smallest hearts,” she said.

A teacher at Hayatul Islam School, Malam Mohammed expressed gratitude to Mrs. Ochai and the entire NDAOWA team for the generosity.

He noted the positive impact of the donations on the children’s well-being and highlighted the importance of community support in nurturing the next generation.

The outreach aligns with NDAOWA’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility and humanitarian services.

Under Mrs. Ochai’s leadership, NDAOWA has continued to champion charitable causes, particularly in supporting women, children, and other vulnerable groups within the community.
