Renowned philanthropist, Mrs. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, has joined the league of exceptional philanthropists, including Aliko Dangote and Aminu Dantata, who have demonstrated extraordinary kindness to flood victims in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Mrs. Tejuosho's latest donation of relief materials and N15 million cash to affected residents in Maiduguri is a testament to her compassion and commitment to supporting those in need.
Prior to the distribution, Mrs. Tejuosho paid a courtesy visit to the Shehu of Borno, His Majesty Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi, where she donated essential items, including Indomie, rice, mosquito nets, blankets, and children's clothing.
The Shehu, in his remarks, commended Mrs. Tejuosho's kindness and generosity.
The donation, which was coordinated by Idris Ya'u, a staff member of the Borno State Ministry of Education, was distributed at Yerwa Central Primary School in Maiduguri yesterday.
The relief materials included 500 bags of 10kg rice, 500 cartons of Indomie, 500 blankets, and 500 mosquito nets. Additionally, Mrs. Tejuosho provided N10 million to 100 nursing mothers (N100,000 each) and N5 million to 100 sick children (N50,000 each).
This generous act comes on the heels of donations from other prominent philanthropists, including Aliko Dangote and Aminu Dantata, who each donated N1.5 billion, and the North East Development Commission, which donated N3 billion.
Mrs. Tejuosho's selfless contribution has earned her a place alongside these distinguished philanthropists, and posterity will undoubtedly be fair to her. Her dedication to humanitarian causes is a shining example of the impact one person can have on their community.
Given her exceptional track record of philanthropy and commitment to alleviating suffering, Mrs. Tejuosho would be an outstanding candidate for the position of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
