KDSG spends N4 billion annually on school feeding - Dr Fauziya Buhari Ado

In an effort towards bringing out of school children back to class, the Kaduna State government is spending four Billion Naira annually on school feeding.
The Special Assistant to the Kaduna State Governor on School Feeding, Dr Fauziya Buhari-Ado stated this during an Eid celebration organized for the pupils of Umaru Musa Yaradua bilingual boarding primary School, Maraban Gwanda, Sabon Gari.
Celebrating the Eid with the pupils, Dr Fauziya Buhari Ado said the aim was to consolidate the effort of Governor Uba Sani in ensuring that children of the less privileged also have quality education.
She noted that the school feeding initiative has strengthen the enthusiasm of the children vis-a-vis the school enrollment and daily attendance rates.
She added that with about 20 million free meals served yearly across schools in Kaduna State, the school feeding program has significantly stimulated local economies by sourcing food from local farmers and vendors, thereby providing them with a stable market and contributing to economic growth within the state.
While commending the state government on the feeding program, the head of the school, Abdulhamid Aliyu said under the present administration, the school has seen a tremendous change in terms of feeding.
In a goodwill message, the village head of filin mallawa, Magaji Dattiya, said that what the government is doing is commendable and they would continue to be supportive so as to achieve what is intended.
Some of the parents interviewed, express their satisfaction with the way their children are being taken care of.
The pupils commended the government and prayed for the success of the administration.
Newsmen reports that at the end, Dr Fauziya distributed some packages to the pupils as sallah gifts.
