The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army (NA), Maj.-Gen. Abubakar Wase, has commended the Nigerian Army Offices Wives Association (NAOWA), for its contributions to Nigerian Army’s non-kinetic activities.
Wase made the commendation when the Chairperson 1 Division NAOWA, Dr Mrs Halima Tafida -Wase and her members paid a courtesy visit to him on Thursday in Kaduna.
Wase who doubles as the Commander Sector 1 Joint Task Force Operation Fansan Yamma said, apart from maintaining the home front, the association had also taken part in the non-kinetic activities of the Nigerian Army by providing immediate succour to the vulnerable.
The GOC also pledged to support them in achieving their mandate.
He further commended NAOWA for its skills acquisition programme and support to families towards ensuring quality and affordable healthcare.
He also appreciated the sacrifice offered by the officers’ wives and urged them to be disciplined, respectful, and loyal to their spouses.
Speaking earlier, Dr Mrs Tafida-Wase commended the GOC and prayed for his successful tour of duty in the command.
The chairperson also unveiled her projection to upgrade the NAOWA Skills Acquisition Centre as well as improve the teaching and learning facilities in the NAOWA Schools.
