The Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), is demanding a thorough investigation into the killing of CSP Baba Ali, a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Rano LGA of Kano state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the Police Command in Kano state, on Monday 26 May, confirmed the killing of the DPO and setting of police station ablaze by irate youths in Rano town, Rano LGA.

In a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday in Kaduna, the National President of the NYCN, Isah Abubakar, expressed sorrow and outrage at the tragic incident, describing it as a grievous loss to the nation.

"CSP Baba Ali served with dedication and integrity, his commitment to peace and security should be honoured,"he said.

Abubakar, therefore called on the Federal Government to initiate an impartial investigation into the heinous act, urging all relevant agencies to collaborate to uncover the circumstances surrounding the DPO's death.

He said the investigation should be transparent, with the families of the victims and the public kept informed throughout the process.

Abubakar, also demanded justice not only for CSP Baba Ali but for all Nigerians seeking safety and security.

He, called on the government to implement measures to strengthen security forces and protect personnel.

"The loss of CSP Baba Ali highlights the urgent need for collective action against violence and insecurity. The government must take action to prevent such tragedies,"he said.
