The Zonal Director, North-West Zone of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Alhaji Hamisu Mayere, has paid a working visit to the Zamfara State Directorate on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
According to him, the purpose of the visit was to assess the staff, discuss challenges, and deliver messages from the Director-General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Isa Onilu, on repositioning the office for optimal performance.
During his visit, the Zonal Director emphasised the importance of staff good conduct, attendance, and discipline, warning that absenteeism and low performance would not be tolerated.
The Zonal Director stressed that accurate, timely, factual, analytical, and updated report writing was crucial and that he would monitor activities at the state level and report back to the National Headquarters.
Mayere emphasised that the Director-General's call for optimal performance which must be answered and that the NOA's mandate must be actualised through result-oriented work.
The Zonal Director's stern warning was aimed at ensuring that staff members take their responsibilities seriously and work towards achieving the agency's goals.
The State Director, in his remarks, briefed the Zonal Director on the level of cooperation received from stakeholders, including the state government, media, NGOs, traditional and religious leaders, and women's groups.
He highlighted the good rapport enjoyed with media outlets such as Zamfara Gold City FM and NTA Zamfara Radio, which has facilitated the agency's work in the state.
The State Director expressed satisfaction with the level of support received from stakeholders, which has enabled the NOA to carry out its mandate effectively.
However, the State Director expressed concerns about the inadequate staffing in some local governments, including Gummi, Bukkuyum, Shinkafi, and Anka, which are headed by only one staff member without supporting staff.
He appealed to the Zonal Director to look into the matter and provide necessary support to enable the agency to function effectively in those areas.
The Chairman of the COMOs forum, Mallam Aminu Mukhtar, assured the Zonal Director of their preparedness to respond to the call and support staff, promising to work as a team.
He emphasised that the forum would carry all staff along and ensure that the agency's work is done efficiently and effectively.
The Zonal Director's visit was seen as a boost to staff morale, and the COMOs forum's commitment to teamwork was a welcome development.

In a goodwill message, the Chief of Gusau, Alhaji Bashir Kabir Danbaba, who was visited by the management, pledged his full support to NOA and expressed his willingness to collaborate on future programs.
He commended the agency's work in the state and assured the Zonal Director that his doors were open for any program ahead.
The Zonal Director's visit was a significant step towards strengthening the agency's operations in Zamfara State and enhancing its ability to achieve its mandate.
