The Nigerian Defence Academy Officers Wives Association (NDAOWA), on Tuesday celebrated Children’s Day and honoured military children.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event had as theme ‘Honouring Our Heroes Through our Children.’
The NDAOWA Coordinator, Mrs Halima brahim said, “Today, we gather to recognise the sacrifices and resilience of children, particularly our military
children.
“These young individuals demonstrate
remarkable strength, resilience, and adaptability, often facing unique challenges due to their parents’ service.
“Let’s acknowledge their courage,
determination, and spirit.
“As we honour our heroes, both living and late, we’re reminded that their children are the future.”
According to Ibrahim, supporting and nurturing them will ensure a brighter future for the communities andthe country at large.
” Let’s work together to provide
opportunities, care and guidance to these exceptional young individuals, “she urged.
Ibrahim expressed gratitude to the academy’s headquarters for their unwavering support, saying: “our partners ‘contributions are highly appreciated.
“Not forgetting the military families’ dedication and sacrifice. Your love and support are the bedrock
of our resilient young heroes’ strength.
“To the children here today, I want you to know that you’re seen, you’re heard, and you’re valued.
“Continue shining bright and pursuing your dreams.”
NAN also reports that the chairperson’s message to the children was one of encouragement and pride, emphasising that they were valued, seen, and heard.
