SSANU elections: Coalition Drums Support For Incumbent National President

A coalition under the auspices of Concerned Civil Society Organisation of Nigeria, has called for the re-election of the incumbent National President of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Mohammed Haruna Ibrahim, in the upcoming election of the association.
The National Coordinator of the coalition, Comrade Aminu Arabi, made the call on Saturday at a press briefing in Kaduna.
Arabi emphasised that the SSANU's National President is enthusiasm, has passion to do more coupled with his motivation to contribute to the association and Nigerian universities.
He said that it was crucial for the incumbent SSANU's president to consolidate on the initiatives and development he started, which formed the backbone of the coalition's intrests in him and thus the call for his re-election.
According to him, the successes recorded in his first tenure were numerous and gigantic.
Arabi mentioned some of the successes to include building of ultra modern SSANU national secretariat, a model and one of its kind, building of SSANU lodge, investment of about 600 million naira for communities well-being.
He added that the incumbent SSANU National President elevated lives and lifted spirit nationwide, boosted public relations, flourished welfare packages and put the association on the map and all brought peace and tranquility.
"Currently, the SSANU National President in a joint action with its sister organisation NASU is on strike to ensure the payments of staff outstanding four months salaries and implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed by the Federal Government since the 20th of August, 2022,"Arabi noted.
In line with the feats, Arabi said the coalition deemed it fit to pass a vote of confidence on the leadership of SSANU's incumbent National President, Comrade Mohammed Haruna Ibrahim and also calls for his re-election as SSANU National President.
He urge each and every member of SSANU to vote for credibility, capacity and competence, to vote for a leader with vision, champion of unity and voice of the people and also vote for progress, unity and evolution in continuity.
"We honestly believe that his leadership background, experience, skills, positive attitude, dedication, commitment garnished with sound reasoning and hard work makes him once again a suitable candidate for the exalted office of SSANU National President,"he added.
