A group under the auspices of Concerned Northern Forum (CNF), has urged the public and staff member of the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) to support the institution and it’s management for the development of its mandate.
Cmrd Abdulsalam Kazeem,
Spokesperson of the group made the call in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday in Kaduna.
Kazeem said the groups call was on the premise of petition submitted against the board, arguing that its current leadership have a trade mark of outstanding fairness to all Nigerians irrespective of their religion, region and background.
According to him, the NBAIS Registrar, Prof Imam Yahuza-Sulaiman’s academic career and expertise would make him well equipped to address the challenges faced by the board and drive it towards greater success.
“Prof Imam Yahuza-Suleiman is a highly respected academician, renowned for his exceptional contributions to the field of Arabic and Islamic studies. His vast knowledge, experience, and leadership qualities leave no doubt that he is the right person to navigate the complexities of the NBAIS.
“With his dedication and commitment, we are confident that he will lead the board towards achieving its goals and ambitions,”he said.
The CNF Spokesperson appealed to aggrieved staff members and the general public to afford Prof Yahuza-Suleiman time to engage with the appropriate authorities regarding pending staff matters.
“At this time, he needs no distractions,”he said.
He noted that change in leadership could bring about necessary adjustments, adding that the Registrar would stabilise to address outstanding issues of the Board in fair and equitable manner.
“By working together and extending trust in his leadership, we can help create an environment conducive for progress and meaningful transformation within the NBAIS,” Kazeem said.
He therefore urged the NBAIS staff members, affiliate institutions and the public to unite behind the NBAIS leadership to engender enhanced, quality and effective Arabic and Islamic studies in Nigeria.
He said doing so, would foster an environment that would promote academic excellence and contributes to the growth and development of societies and the country at large.
