The Kaduna State Government has intensified road infrastructure development at the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, and Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria.
This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen on Sunday in Kaduna by the Managing Director of Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA), Abdullahi Baba-Ahmed.
He said asphalt laying is underway on the access road to the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, as a strategic intervention to improve connectivity and support the Federal tertiary institution.
He said that the projects were initiated by Governor Uba Sani, with contractors mobilised to the site in October 2025, and currently at 95 per cent completion with delivery scheduled in two weeks.
Baba-Ahmed noted that the intervention forms part of 150 road projects launched by Governor Uba Sani, totalling 1,345 kilometres across the state within the first two and a half years.
He added that the final asphalt works will deliver a smooth, durable and motorable surface, improving access for students, staff and the wider community while supporting local economic activities.
Similarly, work is steadily progressing on the reconstruction of internal roads at ABU Zaria, with stone base laying ongoing across key sections of the campus.
The project, he said, is an intervention by the Kaduna State Government aimed at improving infrastructure within the institution and enhancing the overall learning environment.
According to him, with each phase completed, the university is being transformed into a more accessible, safer and better-connected academic community for students, staff and visitors.(NAN)
