DIG engage communities to boost security, peaceful coexistence in Kaduna

 


 

 The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, Shehu Umar Nadada, and the Commissioner of Police in Kaduna State, Rabiu Muhammad, have embarked on an operational tour of communities in the southern part of the state .

The Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State Command, DSP Mansir Hassan, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Kaduna.

Hassan said the tour is to strengthen security and promote peaceful coexistence.

He disclosed that t he tour covered Kachia, Sanga, Jere, Zango, Kajuru and Kafanchan Local Government Areas, among other parts of the state.

According to him, during the visit, the senior police officers held strategic engagements with key stakeholders, including traditional rulers, community leaders, members of Miyetti Allah, other Fulani leaders, religious leaders and youth representatives.

The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration between security agencies and communities, addressing farmer-herder conflicts and promoting intelligence sharing to effectively tackle criminal activities.

Nadada stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence, urging residents to live in harmony and avoid actions capable of escalating tensions. 

He assured the communities of the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to protecting lives and property.

The engagement also provided an avenue for community members to express their concerns and contribute practical solutions aimed at restoring lasting peace in the area.

Hassan reiterated the command commitment to community-based policing and called on residents to support security agencies in maintaining peace and stability across the state.
