NSCDC decorates 118 newly promoted officers in Kaduna

 

 

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna State Command, on Tuesday,  decorated 118 newly promoted officers, charging them to justify their elevation through discipline, professionalism and dedication to service.

The State Commandant of the Corps, Mr Panam Musa who spoke at the decoration ceremony at the command’s Headquarters, said promotions in the uniformed service were earned through years of sacrifice, diligence and loyalty.

He commended the Minister of Interior, Mr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Commandant-General of NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Audi, for their commitment to personnel’s welfare and career progression.

According to him, the promotion of the officers reflected the Federal Government’s resolve to motivate personnel and strengthen operational efficiency within the Corps.

“Promotion comes with greater responsibility. The higher the rank, the higher the expectations.

” Newly promoted officers must be prepared for increased leadership demands, professionalism and accountability,” Musa said.

The commandant reiterated the strategic role of the NSCDC in Nigeria’s internal security framework.

He added that the corps remained actively involved in protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, combating insecurity, safeguarding lives and property, mediating civil conflicts and supporting emergency response operations.

Musa added that Kaduna State remained strategic to national security efforts, assuring that the Command would continue to intensify operations to curb crime and criminality across the State.

The commandant appreciated the families and spouses of the officers for their support and sacrifices, noting that their encouragement contributed significantly to the success of personnel in service.

He lauded Gov. Uba Sani for his sustained support and cooperation with security agencies in the State.

Meanwhile, Sani, in a good will massage, said that the security situation in the state had significantly improved.

Represented by Dr Sule Shu’aibu  the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs. Sani attributed the improved security to the collaboration between government and the security agencies.

Sani said his administration had adopted innovative strategies to restoring peace and protecting lives and property.

The Governor said that major routes such as Kaduna–Abuja, Zaria corridor  and Southern Kaduna to Jos and Birnin Gwari had become safer, allowing the residents to travel without fear.

According to him, several communities that were previously affected by insecurity had witnessed the reopening of markets and the return of economic activities.

Sani commended the NSCDC and other sister security agencies for their resilience and commitment to duty, describing them as critical partners in the fight against insecurity.

He said promotions reflected the hard work, discipline and the officers’ dedication to national service, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them.

Sani charged the officers to uphold integrity, professionalism and strict adherence to the rules of engagement in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers , Deputy Commandant NSCDC  Olatunji Yusuf, appreciated the management of NSCDC for finding them worthy of promotion.

He reiterated their commitment in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)  report that,l the event was attended by heads of  sister security agencies, traditional rulers and senior government officials, among others.
