NAF reaffirms commitment to welfare of personnel, veterans

 

 

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of both serving and retired personnel.

The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, stated this during the 2026 Annual Chief of Air Staff Parley with veterans resident in Kaduna State, on Saturday .

Aneke, who was represented by AVM Anthony  Martins the Chief of Administration at the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters, said the achievements and progress recorded by the Air Force were built on the sacrifices of its veterans.

He said this made it imperative for the service to remain fully committed to the wellbeing and overall betterment of its personnel, both serving and retired.

According to him, several welfare packages had been designed specifically for veterans to improve their quality of life in retirement, while also motivating serving personnel with the assurance of adequate care after service.

In his welcome address, the Air Officer Commanding(AOC), Air Training Command, Kaduna, AVM Esen Paul Efanga expressed appreciation to the veterans for their sacrifices to the nation.

Efanga said the parley provided an opportunity to reflect on the true meaning of being a veteran, adding that the Air Force and the Armed Forces would continue to draw from their wealth of experience.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Veterans Welfare Association, Mr Usman Yusuf, described the event as wonderful, noting that it would significantly improve the welfare of veterans.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN),report that the event featured a medical outreach for veterans as well as an interactive question-and-answer session.
