Technical Education: NBTE Inaugurates Unified Enterprise Resource Portal

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has inaugurated a unified institution management Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Portal, to revolutionise data management across all Polytechnics and technical institutions in Nigeria.

This contained in a statement on Tuesday in Kaduna by Mrs Fatima Abubakar, Head, Media and Publicity, NBTE.

Abubakar said that the NBTE’s Executive Secretary, Prof. Idris Bugaje, at the inauguration explained that the platform would significantly improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency while reshaping the administration of technical education in the country.

Bugaje also said that the inauguration of the unified institution management ERP portal was a significant milestone in modernising Nigeria’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system.

Similarly, the Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Alausa, who officially unveiled the system pledged government’s commitment to monitoring institutional compliance.

Alausa, represented by the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Ahmad, directed all polytechnics and technical institutions to complete registration by December, stressing that participation was mandatory to ensure uniform data management nationwide.

Meanwhile, Dr Babangida Albaba, Technical Assistant to the Executive Secretary, delivered a technical presentation showcasing the portal’s features, security measures, seamless institutional registration and on-boarding process.

Some participants however expressed concerns over operational challenges, funding, and data security.

In response, the NBTE reassured stakeholders of reliable access, strong data protection, and full technical support. (NAN)
