By Sani Idris Abdulrahman

Mammoth crowd attended a town hall meeting in Jahun LGA organized by NOA Jigawa State to educate citizens on ongoing nationwide enlightenment campaign on five thematic areas.

The North-West Zonal Director of NOA, Hamisu Abubakar talked extensively on security awareness, flood mitigation measures, National Identity Project, and students extreme sign out practices, enlightening the citizens.

He mentioned that the present government has initiated programs positively impacting lives, such as students loan scheme, NYIF, and conditional cash transfer, calling on citizens to take advantage of these initiatives.

The programmes, he said, are designed to improve the lives of Nigerians, particularly the vulnerable and marginalized, and urged citizens to key into them for their benefit.

He appealed to residents to utilize the continuous voters registration window opened by INEC to get enrolled, emphasizing the importance of participating in the democratic process.

Newsmen reports that the meeting was attended by Jahun LGA Chairman, community leaders, youth and women associations, students unions, artisanal associations, and PWDs, among others, who all showed great interest in the programs.

The town hall meeting provided a platform for citizens to interact with government officials and get informed about key initiatives, promoting transparency and accountability.

By educating citizens on government programs, NOA Jigawa is bridging the gap between the government and the people, ensuring that citizens are aware of their rights and responsibilities.

The event was highly successful, with attendees expressing gratitude to NOA Jigawa for organizing the meeting and promising to spread the word about the government programs.
