Jigawa Govt, NA collaborate on fostering peaceful environment


The Jigawa Government has affirmed its commitment to collaborate with the Nigerian Army (NA) to maintain and foster a peaceful environment in the state.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations I Division Nigerian Army, Lt-Col. Shuaib Umar , on Wednesday in Kaduna.

Gov. Umar Namadi of Jigawa made the pledge when the General Officer Commanding (GOC) I Division Nigerian Army and  Commander sector  I  Joint Task Force Operation ”Fasan Yamma”, Maj.-Gen. Abubakar Wase, paid him a  visit at the Government House Dutse..

Namadi said that the primary goal of the synergy is to create and sustain a peaceful and secure environment for the residents of Jigawa.

”We are ready to  collaborate with the Nigerian army to ensure a  secured and  peaceful atmosphere where social and economic activities will always  strives,” he said.

The governor expressed his gratitude to the  Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen.  Olufemi Oluyede  for his  dedication and commitment in ensuring a  stable and secured state through the presence of the army in the state.

Responding, the  GOC,  thanked the governor for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage.

Wase  commended the governor for the stable security environment in the state and informed  the governor that the army will continue  to keep the state safe from criminal elements.

Earlier while addressing officers and men, the GOC assured the troops that the leadership  of Nigerian army is priotisng the welfare of troops and providing  a conducive environment for them to carry out all their tasks professionally.

He urged them to be proactive and remain their brothers keeper.

The GOC also inaugurated the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA Nursery and Primary School established  by the Coordinator NAOWA 26 Armoured Brigade chapter  Mrs Blessing Mackintosh.
