Consider every call to arms as an emergency– Commandant AFIT charges personnel

The Commandant Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), AVM Sani Rabe, charged personnel to always consider every call to arms as an emergency.
Rabe gave the charge on Saturday at the fourth quarter of Nigerian Air Force 2024 Joint Route March Exercise for NAF personnel in Kaduna.
He said the event was a routine exercise in the Nigerian Air Force aimed at ensuring that the personnel remain fit for their constitutional responsibilities.
He reminded the personnel that NAF was fully engaged in security operations across the country.
He therefore, said it was necessary for the personnel to remain fit at all times so as to be combat ready for operations when ever called upon.
Rabe urged the personnel to be timely whenever the call to arms arise, adding that most often, the call was an exercise and a dream.
“Continue to consider every call to arms as an emergency,” he charged.
He congratulated the NAF volleyball team for toping the league for the year and gaining promotion to premiership level.
He equally congratulated those who distinguished themselves and won medals during the Nigerian Armed Forces Games 2024.
To those invited for the upcoming International Armed Forces Games 2024, Rabe urged them to make Nigeria and the service proud by distinguishing themselves through winning medals.
He thanked the Chief of Air Staff for his exemplary leadership and the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command.
Earlier, AVM Felix Uwakara the Chief of Staff, Air Training Command (ATC), said the essence of the match was to keep fit to improve the operational readiness of the NAF personnel.
He said: “Same exercise is ongoing across five other commands of the NAF as well as the Headquarters.
“The essence is to ensure our physical fitness for operational readiness.
“We are engaged in far and wide in operations across the nation, the reading of a soldier is fitness and training, this is why we are updating our selves on such today,” he said.
Uwakara confirmed that as demonstrated in the day’s event, the personnel were 99.5 per cent fit and ready to undertake any sudden national assignment. (NAN)
