The Military Secretary Army MS (A), Maj.-Gen. Eyitayo Oyinlola has on Monday sensitized officers of 1 Division Nigerian Army Area of Responsibility (AoR) to career planning and prospects in the service.
Oyinlola reiterated the need for officers to be highly disciplined and avoid all acts that may jeopardize their career.
The MS, thanked the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division for hosting the event, while urging the participants to take the lessons seriously.
He emphasised the importance of sharing the knowledge they learnt with other officers who could not attend the event due to operational commitments and other exigencies.
Earlier in his welcome address, the GOC 1 Division Nigerian Army, Maj.- Gen. Mayirenso Saraso, expressed his appreciation to the MS for the well packaged and informative lecture.
Saraso emphasized the importance of career planning in helping officers set professional goals as well as achieving them.
He noted that the lecture aligned with the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy of ensuring that officers are well-informed about their postings, promotions, and professional growth.
Saraso therefore encouraged the participants to strive for excellence through hard work, discipline and commitment to duty.
He also urged them to be actively engaged in the lecture by listening attentively and asking relevant questions to clear their doubts.
In attendance at the lecture were the Commandant, Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Maj.-Gen. John Ochai, Commanders and Principal Staff Officers from the NDA and Headquarters 1 Division.
Participants were drawn from various Nigerian Army (NA) formations, units, establishments and schools within the 1 Division AoR.
