The Zaria Area Command of the Kaduna State Police Command on Tuesday distributed Sallah palliatives to widows and orphans of fallen police officers.
The initiative, organised by the Area Commander, ACP Abdulrahman Idris, was aimed at supporting the families of deceased officers, particularly in the upbringing and welfare of their children.
Items distributed at the event included 10 grinding machines, 50 sets of male and female clothing, and food items for 100 families, comprising rice, millet, maize, spaghetti, macaroni and groundnut oil. Each beneficiary also received a cash support of ₦5,000.
The gesture was designed to ease the economic burden on the widows and provide relief during the Sallah celebration.
The Commissioner of Police in Kaduna State, CP Rabiu Muhammad, commended the Area Commander for the initiative and urged other senior officers to emulate such humanitarian efforts in support of families of fallen officers.
