The Railway Property Management Company Limited (RPMCL), has donated an operational Hilux vehicle and office furniture to the Nigerian Police, Railway Junction Division in Kaduna.
The RPMCL, also inaugurated a renovated Guest House for the Railway Divisional Police Officer (RDPO) at Barnawa, Kaduna.
It also unveiled a newly constructed RPMCL guest house at the same location.
Speaking at the occasion on Tuesday in Kaduna,the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of RPMCL, Mr Timothy Zalanga, said the occasion reflects corporate social responsibility, institutional support, community partnership and national development.
He stated that beyond increasing assets base and business growth, RPMCL remains committed to strengthening institutions and supporting security agencies within its operational environments.
According to him, RPMCL had consistently supported the Nigeria Police Force with operational tools including computers, motorcycles and office supplies to enhance efficiency.
He explained that the renovation of the Police Division Office and Rest House, alongside donation of furniture and a Hilux vehicle, will improve operational mobility, officer welfare and institutional capacity.
Zalanga disclosed that the newly constructed RPMCL guest house at No. 3 Gashash Road, Barnawa, was strategically important for official engagements and befitting accommodation for the Chief Executive.
He revealed that the property had previously been under legal contention in Court but was successfully recovered through diligent legal engagement, restoring it to RPMCL and enhancing its asset portfolio.
The managing director said that RPMCL has constructed and upgraded office facilities in Maiduguri, Minna, Kafanchan, Ilorin and Enugu, and installed solar lighting systems to improve security and promote sustainable energy solutions.
He said similar infrastructure would be provided at zonal and area offices nationwide as part of a ten-year strategy anchored on technology, asset optimisation, business growth, capacity development and performance improvement.
Zalanga acknowledged the support and guidance of the Minister of Transportation, Senator Sa’idu Alkali, whose policy direction he said enables the Nigerian Railway Corporation and RPMCL to thrive.
He also appreciated the Chairman of the RPMCL Board, Dr Kayode Opeifa, board members and management for providing strategic leadership, oversight and stability for sustained growth and value creation.
Zalanga thanked contractors, Consultants, suppliers, the project team and RPMCL staff for delivering the projects on schedule and reaffirmed commitment to responsible asset management and strategic growth.
The former managing director of RPMCL and Special Guest of Honour at the event, Alhaji Abubakar Labaran, described the projects as symbols of partnership, responsibility and shared commitment to institutional support.
Labaran said security remained critical to development and commended RPMCL for supporting the Kaduna Junction Railway Police Division to enhance efficiency, morale and address vandalisation challenges.
He urged the officers to make effective use of the facilities and encouraged stronger collaboration between public institutions and security agencies to build safer communities and a more resilient nation.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Kaduna Junction Railway Division, DSP Abdullahi Buba, expressed appreciation to RPMCL for the renovation of the Police Division Office and rest house, describing the gesture as timely and impactful.
He said the donation of the Hilux vehicle and office furniture would significantly improve operational mobility, administrative efficiency and response capacity of officers.
The DPO assured the stakeholders that the facilities and resources would be properly utilised to strengthen security, protect railway assets and enhance service delivery to the public.(NAN)
