In the ongoing 2024 Hajj excercise, pilgrims from Kaduna state have expressed joy, as they visited the Prophet's Mosque, graves of his companions and other historical places in Medina, while also commending the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) for feeding them with nutritious meals.

Our news correspondent reports that the pilgrims also visited the Prophet's Tomb, located inside the Prophet's Mosque, Jannat al-Baqi, A cemetery where many companions and family members of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) are buried, and mount Uhud, a mountain where the battle of Uhud took place, and many companions were martyred.

The pilgrims also visited the Masjid al-Qiblatain, a mosque where the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) received the revelation to change the direction of prayer from Jerusalem to Mecca, Masjid al-Fath, a mosque built to commemorate the Prophet's victory in the Battle of Khaybar, among others.

The sacred places hold significant importance in Islamic history and are visited by millions of pilgrims and tourists each year.

Speaking to the pilgrims at sidelines of the sacred historical sites, Hajiya Safiya Yusuf from Ikara and Hajjo Musa of Sanga LGAs of Kaduna state, said the visit to all the places made them felt the cravings to visit Medina again every year till they die.

The duo said they used the opportunity of the visit to the sacred places to pray for Nigeria's development and peaceful coexistence.

They equally said they prayed to God to avert any form of destruction or chaos that would take the country backward and put it to disrepute.

They duo lauded NAHCON for their support and efforts towards ensuring that Kaduna pilgrims have great experience.

The prayed to God to grant them and their family members the opportunity to visit the holy land again for worship.

Also, Haruna Yahaya from Soba LGA of Kaduna, said he has visited all the graves of the Prophet's deciples , where he prayed extensively for their souls.

He prayed for the NAHCON boss to be rewarded by God immensely for his good deeds and give him the ability to sustain the good work of ensuring pilgrims gratify positively from their pilgrimage.

Another pilgrim from Jama'a LGA, Abdullateef Kayode, said it was a great feeling to visit the Raudat, where he greeted the holy prophet and his companions.

He added that, "However congested the places were, we tried hard to have entered, where I prayed for the development of my beloved nation Nigeria".

He thanked NAHCON for all their efforts in ensuring that pilgrims have the best of experience while at the holy land.

Also, Abdulrazak Attah and Ibrahim Isa, said it was thier first time in Madina.

The duo, therefore said the ongoing Hajj excercise would be a thing of nostalgia to them after completion of the excercise.

Another pilgrim, Yahanasu Muhammad, commended NAHCON for committment to their welfare.

She specifically commended NAHCON for the choices of food they give to diabetic patience.

Muhammad urged pilgrims to desist from spreading fake news especially on social media, adding that it puts NAHCON, Nigerians and Nigeria as a whole to disrepute.

"I have seen everything with my own eyes, the Hajj agency is really trying its best to take care of pilgrims,"she.

Speaking to pilgrims from other states, Hajiya Halima Tasiu from Dawakin Kudu LGA of Kano State described their breakfast as 'sumptuous'.

She commended NAHCON for the hospitality, while urging them to continue the good work.

A Hajj official, Rabi'a Ibrahim, of Kajuru LGA, said they usually give bread and tea, water and chicken pepper soup to the pilgrims.

She said the pilgrims were cooperative, adding that the number of pilgrims in a room determined the quantity of food given to them.

"From the facial appearances of the pilgrims, we see satisfaction and joy. We have not received any complain from them,"she said.
