He recalled initial construction during the administration of Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa and later its reconstruction under former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua when he served as governor of Katsina State.

According to Buni, the latest upgrade reflects continuity in leadership and a renewed commitment to improving the welfare of citizens through strategic investments in infrastructure.

He urged residents of the benefiting communities to take ownership of the road project by protecting it from misuse while highlighting the importance of maintenance for durability.

In his remarks, Radda described the project as a major milestone in his administration’s efforts to drive economic growth and improve the quality of life for residents.

He said the road serves as a vital economic corridor that will reduce travel time, enhance safety, and stimulate business activities across Shargale, Dutsi, Ingawa, and surrounding communities.

Radda said his administration is building on legacies of past leaders, modernising critical infrastructure to meet present-day demands, while reaffirming his commitment to people-oriented projects.

He commended the state’s Commissioner for Works, Housing, and Transport, Dr Sani Magaji Ingawa, for his supervision of the project.

The governor also commended the contractor, Mothercat Ltd and the consultants for quality project delivery.

Earlier, Ingawa described the project as a landmark achievement in the state’s infrastructure drive to boost interconnectivity.

The commissioner added that the government had completed over 200 kilometres of road projects across urban and rural areas, reflecting its determination to transform the state’s infrastructure landscape.

He thanked governor Radda for his leadership and commitment which continues to inspire the delivery of impactful projects.

Also, Mr Maroon Gosten, the representative of MotherCat Ltd,  said the project was completed within 12 months ahead of the 16 months schedule.
