The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared Alhaji Muktar Galadima the winner of the party's primary election for Wukari/Ibi Federal constituency seat.
The PDP Returning Officer, Mr Nuhu Agbu, who affirmed Galadima as the sole candidate for the contest, said that his emergence was in compliance with the party's constitution and guidelines.
Agbu, said that the PDP leadership in Wukari and Ibi ensured that due process was strictly followed.
He added that the Chairmen of the 20 wards across the constituency: 10 wards in Wukari and 10 wards in Ibi, and the designated Returning Officers, visited each ward to consult party members and stakeholders.
"At every ward, loyal PDP members unanimously affirmed and endorsed Mukhtar Galadima as their preferred candidate to represent the party in the forthcoming general election.
"Subsequently, the PDP leadership of Wukari/Ibi formally presents the collated results and documented endorsements before the leadership of the party in the state.
"The exercise was conducted in the presence of representatives of the Independent Electoral Commission and other relevant authorities, in compliance with the electoral guidelines.
"Hon. Mukhtar Galadima is officially declared as the winner and PDP candidate for the Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency," Agbu added.
In his acceptance remarks, Galadima expressed profound gratitude and described the day as one of the happiest moments of his life.
He further urged the people of Wukari and Ibi to ensure they obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, emphasising that voter participation remained key to achieving collective political aspirations.
A cross section of party leaders expressed appreciation for the peaceful and transparent process.
They reaffirmed their total support for the candidate and wished him victory in the forthcoming general elections.
