National President of the Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Isah Abubakar, has commended Senator Jibrin Barau, the Deputy Senate President for contributing towards educational development and award of scholarships to indigents.
Abubakar, in a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday in Kaduna captioned "Senator Jibrin Barau, a Deputy Senate President of an exceptional character", said the Senator, who is giving life to the young persons from Northern extraction through scholarship is worthy of praises for his selfless services to the development of his people.
Emphasising the importance of education, Abubakar quoted John Dewey who once said “Education is not preparation for life; Education is life itself."
The National President therefore, said the character of Senator Barau Jibrin should be a point of study to other senators representing their people across the nation.
"Barau Jibrin has entrench the concept of Re-newed hope agenda of Mr. President across the Northern region, and he deserves a special space in the heart of Mr. President.
"The commitment of the Deputy Senate President towards educational development and award of scholarship stand tall among his contemporary"he said.
He appealed to other members of the National Assembly to emulate Senator Jibrin in supporting the cause for education and other life saving endeavors in their constituents.(NAN)
