The Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP), has felicitated with Sen. Godswill Akpabio and Tajudeen Abass on their respective emergence as the Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives of the 10th National Assembly.
In a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday in Kaduna by Mr Isaac Abrak, Chairman of the group, he also congratulated Sen. Barau Jibril and Benjamin Kalu on their successful emergence as the Deputy Speakers of both chambers.
Commending members of the upper and lower chambers, Abrak said the achievements marked significant milestones in the collective journey towards inclusiveness, unity, and progress in Nigeria.
According to him, the national assembly's enlightened decision to vote for Akpabio, Jibrin Abbas, and Kalu, demonstrated their recognition of the importance of embracing diversity and working together to promote the common interests of the nation
"Senate President Akpabio and Speaker Tajudeen have assumed pivotal roles as part of the legislative arm of government, they will no doubt bring about positive changes to the nation.
"We believe that their leadership, in tandem with the collective dedication of the Senate and the House, will pave the way for inclusiveness, unity, and progress in Nigeria,"he said.
Abrak specifically, emphasised on the need for the new National Assembly leaders to sustain winning the war against oil subsidy cabals, by ensuring that resources are efficiently managed for the benefit of every citizen.
He urged them to work collaboratively with the executive arm led by President Bola Tinubu to improve the living conditions of all Nigerians.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
Akpabio defeats Yari to emerge as Senate President
Akpabio succeeds Ahmed Lawan as Senate President of the 10th National Assembly.
Senator Godswill Akpabio has been elected as the President of the Senate of the 10th National Assembly.

Akpabio secured 63 votes to defeat former governor of Zamfara State, Abdul-Azeez Yari, who secured 46 votes.
Recall that in May, the National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) endorsed the former governor of Akwa-Ibom State to become the next Senate President.
The party also favoured Tajudeen Abass to emerge as the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
109 senators participated in the voting exercise which ended at 9:15 am.
Akpabio served as a Minister of Niger Delta Affairs under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
