The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Zonal Command, Kaduna State, on Friday decorated 18 newly promoted Officers comprising eight officers, eight Senior Non Commissioned Officers and two Road Marshals.

In his address, the Zonal Commanding Officer, Zone RS1, Kaduna, ACM Godwin Omiko, said the promotion involved well laid out assessment parameters such as annual performance evaluation report, medical and fitness tests.

He added that written examination and oral interview were also part of the assessment for the promotion, adding that the process was transparent.

“Promotion is a journey of growth and testament of hard work and dedication to duty; it is one of the best things that can happen to anyone’s career.

“I warmly congratulate all the promoted Officers/Marshals on your well-deserved promotion to your new ranks.

“Please bear in mind that promotion is not a right but a privilege and reward for excellence, dedication, hard work, loyalty and discipline,” he said.

He urged the offficers to continue to maintain the greatest standards of professionalism and integrity in their service to the country and the motoring public.

He added that some of the promoted officers would be given higher responsibilities, and that they could not afford to fail.

He urged those who were not successful not to be discouraged but remain steadfast, adding that they would get it next time.

“You must, therefore, redouble your efforts to ensure we deliver on our corporate mandate of creating a safer motoring environment and achieving the goal of the UN Decade of action,” he said.

Corp Commander, Garba Lawal, who spoke on behalf of the newly promoted personnel, appreciated the federal government and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation for facilitating the promotion.

He said the promotion would motivate the officers to do more in ensuring safety of road users and sanity on roads.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that representatives of the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Immigration Service, Security and Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Authority (KASTLEA) witnessed the decoration ceremony.
