The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has thrown it support and endorsement for Mr. Emmanuel Oloja Akpakwu for consideration as Minister of the Federal Republic by President Bola Tinubu's administration.
NANS, an apex body representing the interests of Nigerian students across the nation, made the endorsement in a statement to newsmen by its Secretary General, Usman Baba Kankia.
Kankia said that they as students union, firmly believed that Akpakwu's exceptional qualifications, vast experience in entrepreneurship and sports, as well as his commendable relationship with the youth and student community, made him an ideal candidate for the position of a Minister in the country.
According to him, Akpakwu's accomplishments in the field of entrepreneurship were truly remarkable.
"As a successful entrepreneur, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, business acumen, and a strong commitment to creating job opportunities for Nigerian youths,"he said.
Kankia added that Akpakwu's experience in establishing and managing businesses across various sectors did not only contributed to the growth of the economy but also inspired countless young Nigerians to had pursued their entrepreneurial dreams.
He also said that Akpakwu's involvement in sports had been exemplary, adding that he has been a staunch advocate for the development of sports infrastructure and the promotion of sporting activities across the nation.
"His understanding of the potential of sports as a tool for social cohesion and national development is truly remarkable," he said.
Kankia noted that under Akpakwu's guidance, they witnessed the positive impact of sports on the lives of young Nigerians through instilling discipline, fostering teamwork, and promoting healthy lifestyle.
Speaking further, the Secretary General said that one of the most commendable attributes of Mr Akpakwu was his exceptional relationship with the youth and student community.
"He has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the welfare and progress of Nigerian students through actively engaging with various student organizations and championing their causes.
"His presence at numerous youth-focused events, where he has provided valuable mentorship and guidance, has earned him the trust and respect of the student community.
"As the apex body representing Nigerian students, NANS recognizes the immense potential that Mr. Emmanuel Oloja Akpakwu possesses to positively impact the nation in a ministerial role.
"His vast experience in entrepreneurship, combined with his unwavering dedication to youth and student development, uniquely positions him to address the pressing challenges facing our nation,"Kankia said.
He called on President Bola Tinubu to seriously consider Mr. Akpakwu's candidacy for Minister of the Federal Republic, noting that Nigerian students firmly believed that his appointment would be significant step towards harnessing the enormous talents and capabilities of Nigerian youths and students, ultimately contributing to the socio-economic growth and prosperity of Nigeria.
He restated NANS committed in collaborating with the government in creating enabling environment for the youth and students to thrive.
"We believe that Mr. Emmanuel Oloja Akpakwu's appointment as Minister of the Federal Republic will serve as a catalyst for positive change, driving the nation towards a brighter future,"he said.
