Southern Kaduna Senatorial aspirant promises different approach to lasting peace

By Moses Kolo

Mr Zacharia Dauke, an aspirant for Southern Kaduna Senatorial seat has promised a different approach and legislative agenda towards securing the region to bring about uncommon development.

Dauke made the disclosure on Thursday during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna.

The aspirant contesting under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) promised to effectively manage the diversity that existed in the region.

Dauke who had earlier returned from the PDP National Headquarters, Abuja where he picked his nomination form for the Senate race, said he would adopt the leadership style that would change the tide of the region.

“One of our major setback in Southern Kaduna is poor management of our diversity, as we lack synergy and everyone is on his own while things go helter scatter,” Dauke regretted.

He said his legislative agenda would ensure a secured, united, stronger, peaceful and prosperous Southern Kaduna, adding, “we will make sure that all resources meant for the communities are well utilised”.

Commenting on the state of insecurity which has been a recurring decimal in Southern Kaduna, Dauke identified strategic cordial relationship and government synergy as key to sustainable peace.

“Confrontation will not bring us peace as such, we must establish relationship with our neighbors, authorities at hand and augment efforts of the government in power,” he said.

Dauke who present himself as the “White Horse” in the race, also planned an inclusive collaborative agenda with other elective leaders of the region for collective results.

He enjoined the electorate to ensure they register and get their Voter Card to vote in the kind of leaders they desired for effective and proper leadership accountability.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that the get-together was to show Buhari’s appreciation to the critical stakeholders for their continued support, understanding and cooperation to his administration.

It was also meant to show appreciation to the founding fathers for keeping faith with the goals and ideals of the ruling party for national salvation.

The engagement was also in furtherance of genuine efforts by the Buhari administration aimed at ensuring a rancour free and successful National Convention of the party, slated for March 26.

Others in attendance included the first Interim Chairman of Party, Chief Bisi Akande, Dr Ogbonnaya OnuRochas Okorocha, Ibrahim Shekarau and Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

Others are Governors Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, Aminu Masari of Katsina, and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.

The Chairman, Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the party, Mai Mala Buni, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, also attended the dinner.
