Pulse.ng : FRSC inaugurates special Sallah patrol in Kaduna

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kaduna State Sector Command, on Monday began a special Eid-el-Fitr patrol, reiterating its commitment to sanitising all roads in the state.

The Sector Commander of the Corps, Mr Kabir Nadabo, stated this at the commencement of the patrol at the Kawo motor park, Kaduna metropolis.

Nadabo said the special patrol was for the command to achieve crash-free festivities.

According to him, the command has outlined strategies to ensure that the special operations are conducted across the entire state.

Nadabo said that all the instruments to enhance the success of the operations had been put in place.

”They include putting adequate human and material resources on ground and collaboration with sister security agencies such as Nigerian Police, NSCDC and DSS,” he said.

Nadabo said that flash points such as areas susceptible to traffic gridlock have all been identified for adequate deployment of personnel for effective traffic control.

“The command has set aside 14 Hilux vehicles, five power bikes, five ambulances and one tow truck for effective operations.

“Strategic routes of Kaduna-Abuja, Kaduna-Zaria and Kaduna-Pambegua, which have the highest volume of traffic, will be adequately manned by operatives of the Corps,” he added.

Nadabo said that the corps has stationed operatives along the construction area from Command Secondary school, down to Peugeot junction and down to Abuja bridge for traffic control and prompt removal of obstructions.

He said, “These concerted efforts will add to the positive strides witnessed in the state as it relates to crash reduction.

“May I also add that for the first time in Kaduna, only three crashes were recorded within a period of 21 days.

” This is primarily due to home grown initiatives birthed and implemented by the Command.”

Nadabo said the corps was poised to continue to work hard in ensuring the mandate of the corps.

The sector commander appreciated Kaduna State Government for its continuous support to FRSC activities.

He also lauded sister security agencies for their commitment to assist the corps when the need arose.

Nadabo appreciated transport unions, particularly NURTW for collaborating in the ongoing joint task force operations.

According to him, the operations are aimed at discouraging trailers from carrying excessive goods and humans, saying, ”crashes of such class of vehicles often lead to fatal consequences.

”The exercise is witnessing compliance from most of the trailers carrying animals and goods, thus the objective of the operation has been achieved.”

Nadabo appealed to the public to always abide by traffic rules and regulations to assist the corps in saving lives and properties.
