A group under the aegis of Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP), has felicitated President Bola Tinubu on his inauguration, while urging him to prioritise appointment of competent Northern Christians in his administration.
Chairman of the NCYP, Mr Isaac Abrak, made the call in a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday in Kaduna.
Reminding President Tinubu of their the support they provided during his campaigns, Abrak requested that he prioritise the appointment of Northern Christians into key strategic positions within his administration.
"It is with great pride that we recall our unwavering support and the efforts made by our organisation to mobilize Christians from the Northern region to vote for you.
"As you assume the highest office in the land, we acknowledge the immense responsibilities that lie before you, however, Northern Christians have long yearned for increased representation and inclusion in decision-making processes," Abrak said.
He added that by appointing deserving Northern Christians to important roles such as the Secretary General of the Federation, Security Chiefs, and other vital positions, President Tinubu would not only acknowledge their collective support.
He therefore said it would also ensure that the diverse voices and perspectives of their region are duly represented at the highest levels of governance.
The Chairman commended President Tinubu for his audacious announcement regarding the removal of the fuel subsidy, as outlined in his renewed hope manifesto.
He noted that the bold step demonstrates President Tinubu's commitment to implementing crucial reforms for the betterment of the nation.
Adding further, Abrak reminded President Tinubu on his promise to revitalize the Forest Guards, describing the initiative immensely significance in securing the nation's forests from the threats of Boko Haram, Bandits, and other violent groups.
"We recognize the magnitude of this task and the impact it can have on national security, the revaltilsed forest gaurds can recruit and employ 185,000 young Nigerian individuals within the first six months in fulfilment of one million jobs promised from the digital economy.
"Drawing upon your experience as the former Governor of Lagos State where you successfully utilised mass youth employment through the establishment of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, this feat can be achieved,"he said.
The Chairman also said that Vice President, Kashim Shettima's instrumental role in establishing Civilian Joint Task Force when he was a Governor in Borno State, was also a confidence boaster in thier ability to make the ambitious plan of reviving Forest Guards reality within the first 6 months of the administration.
"President Tinubu, the road ahead may not be easy, but we firmly believe that your leadership, along with that of your vice, holds the promise of positive transformation for our beloved nation,"Abrak said.
He pledged their unwavering support and commitment to the incumbent's administration's endeavors.
"We stand ready to work hand in hand with you, offering our expertise and resources to help achieve the noble goals you have set forth," he said.
He prayed God to grant their administration wisdom, strength, and divine guidance to navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, while eagerly anticipating witnessing positive changes his leadership would bring to the nation.
Abrak urged him to remain steadfast in his resolve and push forward with vital policies, while keeping in mind potentials to create more sustainable and equitable economic environment for all Nigerians.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
