Agency Report

The Leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State had cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against infraction of justice following alleged delay in announcement of election results.
Recall that Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly election was held Saturday March 18 in the State.
Mr Felix Hyat, Kaduna State PDP Chairman gave the warning on Monday while addressing a press briefing at the party’s Secretariat in Kawo, Kaduna.
According to Hyet, the delay being witnessed in the announcement of last Saturday’s polls was alleged deliberate plan by INEC to deny the PDP and the electorate the right to choose who to govern them.
“It has become necessary to address you on the continuous delay by INEC to declare that winner of the gubernatorial election held last Saturday, March 18, 2023.
“The PDP views this a deliberate plan to deny PDP and the people of Kaduna State the right of choice of who to govern them.
“I therefore, call of INEC to declare Rt. Hon. Mohammed Isa Ashiru as the elected governor of Kaduna State using the authentic result in the server.
“Any attempt to change or doctore the results would be seen as an infraction of justice to deny the people of their right to freedom of choice, Hyet maintained.
The Chairman, who commended the electorate for their patience, support and confidence in the party, assured of its determination to protect and defend every vote.
He, however, urged the people to remain calm, vigilant and law abiding while they await INEC immediate response. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
