The Kaduna International polo tournament is set to begin on October 23.
The President of Kaduna Polo club, Alhaji Suleiman Abubakar, made the disclosure on Sunday while addressing journalists in Kaduna.
He said the tournament would run from October 23 to 30 .
He said "27 teams so far have confirmed their attendance.
"For the Georgian teams, we have recorded five entries, Georgian is the highest level of polo played on the African continent, this year we expect foreign nationals from Argentina, South Africa, England, this are the prominent countries where we will have players from".
Abubakar noted that at the tournament, COVID-19 protocols would be ensured and all the necessary steps to adhere to it would also be put in place.
The President assured that the tournament would be the highest of polo in Africa continent.
"We hope and promise that we will lift the bar higher, we have continuously tried to improve both the quality of play, level of entertainment and the facility available, we hope that this year we will not disappoint", he said.
" We have some new teams that hope to do some magic and the traditional teams that have always come to compete, the Imani cup, El-amin , Trobell cup, Shettima Hadija cup, the traditional cups will all be played for".
He thanked their traditional sponsors; First bank PLC and other sponsors for their support in the years' tournament.
On his part, the Tournament Manager, Hon. Ibrahim Kotongora, revealed that Kaduna polo received 48.5 million Naira from their sponsors for the years' tournament.
He equally assured that the years' tournament would be wonderful.

Stella Oduah: ‘It’s deceitful to say Buhari doesn’t mean well for Southeast’
Oduah says the records of development projects executed in the Southeast by the APC Federal Government are there for anyone to see.
Stella Oduah, the lawmaker representing Anambra North senatorial district has rejected the claim that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration maginalises the southeast region.
Oduah, who recently dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) said it is deceitful to say the president and the ruling party do not mean well for the southeast.
“It will amount to a self-deceit for anyone to say that President Muhammadu Buhari, and, APC do not mean well for the South East region,” she said.
She said the record of the many infrastructural development projects executed in the Southeast by the APC federal government are there for anyone to see.
Explaining the reason she left the PDP, the former Minister of Aviation said she defected to the APC to enable her attract more dividends of democracy to her senatorial district.
The senator, who was represented by Mrs Amaka Ononuju, said this at the APC secretariat in Awka.
She said joining the ruling party would give her access to power circles where decisions are taken on the development of the country.
Oduah also promised to deliver massive votes in her senatorial district for the APC and its candidate, Senator Andy Uba in the forthcoming November 6 gubernatorial election in Anambra.
