The Nigerian Army says it will conduct its annual Field Training Exercise codenamed Exercise Mugun Bugu V, nicknamed Operation Garkuwan Daji, in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Nigerian Army Training Centre, Kontagora, Maj. Godfrey Abakpa, disclosed this in a statement.
Abakpa said the exercise is scheduled to hold from November 6 to November 19.
He, therefore, enjoined members of the public not to panic on hearing sounds of explosives, gunfire, and sighting movements of a large number of troops and equipment to the designated exercise areas.
"Residents, farmers, herders and commuters around Alkaleri and its environs are also urged not to panic on hearing gunshots and sounds of explosives.
"The Nigerian Army reassures residents that necessary measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of lives and property throughout the period of the exercise," he said.
