The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, has emphasised the importance of visionary and integrity-driven leadership in the Armed Forces.
This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen on Sartuday in Kaduna by Lt.-Col. Olumide Olukoya, the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Public Relations Officer.
Speaking at the AFCSC in Jaji, Kaduna State, on Saturday, Abubakar urged officers to adopt innovative, disciplined, and teamwork-oriented approaches to achieve mission success.
Abubakar highlighted that true command effectiveness stems from influence, integrity, and the ability to inspire subordinates toward collective excellence.
He stressed that leaders should recognise opportunities even in challenging circumstances and motivate others to achieve shared objectives.
The lecture, titled "From Vision to Reality: Strategic Leadership Insights from the CAS Command Philosophy," was attended by students of Senior Course 47 and Junior Course 100 of the AFCSC.
Abubakar's presentation reinforced the College's mission of developing competent, ethical, and visionary leaders for the Armed Forces.
In his remarks, the Commandant of AFCSC, AVM Hassan Alhaji, commended the CAS for his inspiring and timely lecture.
He urged students to apply the lessons learned to their professional conduct and service delivery.
The lecture attracted a robust interactive session, where the CAS responded to the students' thought-provoking questions on leadership, command philosophy, and inter-service cooperation.
The event was attended by senior military officers, including the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, Commandants of Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Air Force Institute of Technology, Warrant Officers' Academy, and Military Training Centre.
The occasion was marked with the presentation of a souvenir to the Guest Lecturer by the Commandant AFCSC and a vote of thanks by Lieutenant Commander SO Emiola.
