Discipline, Resilience, Patriotism As Nigerian Military School Celebrates 67th Passing Out Parade



The Nigerian Military School (NMS) celebrated its 67th Passing Out Parade today 9 August, 2025 in a grand style with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede who was the Special Guest of Honour (SGOH) charged the passing out boys to be disciplined, resilient, and patriotic young men.

In his address, General Oluyede congratulated the boys on their achievement, describing it as a testament to their hard work, resilience, and commitment to the values of duty, discipline, and patriotism.

The Chief of Army Staff noted that over the past six years, the boys had overcome physical and mental challenges that demanded their best. "You have learned the essence of teamwork, selflessness, and integrity.

"These experiences have shaped you into soldiers, guardians of our sovereignty, defenders of our democracy, and symbols of national pride",he said.

General Oluyede who was represented at the poassing out parade by the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Major General Mayirenso Saraso also reiterated his Command Philosophy, which is anchored on readiness, operational effectiveness, sound administration, and cooperation with stakeholders. 

He emphasized the importance of the "Soldier First" concept, which prioritizes the welfare and morale of soldiers.

The Nigerian Army, according to the COAS, has continued to invest in improving living conditions, welfare schemes, and career development policies for its personnel. 

Other dignitaries  who graced the occasion were the Commandant Nigerian  Defence Academy Maj Gen  AK Ibrahim OFR, representative of the Emir  of Zazzau, the Commandant Depot  Nigerian Army, Commandant MLAILPKC and the Chairperson NAOWA  1 Division Chapter Mrs Ada  Saraso, among other dignitaries.

As part of the celebrations, various projects were commissioned, including the remodelled Calabar Company, NMS House, and PSOs' house.
