DICON begins commemoration of 60th anniversary with Juma’at prayer

The Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria(DICON), on Friday observed a special Juma’at service as part of the commemoration of its 60th anniversary.
The Chief Imam of 1010 Workshop, 1 Division, Nigerian Army Kaduna, Capt. Ibrahim Bassey, who led the prayer, urged Nigerians to continue to support DICON to achieve its mandate of meeting the defence needs of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the special Juma’at prayer was held at Comilla Cantonment Mosque, 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna.
The chief imam, who dwelt his sermon on the need for Nigerians to be patriotic, said that DICON’s contributions to the defence needs of the Armed Forces have been a stabilising factor for Nigeria.
Bassey, therefore, called on Nigerians to continue to support the corporation in its quest to ensure the protection of Nigeria’s territorial integrity against all forms of threats.
The cleric also advised Nigerians to remain patient and obedient to constituted authorities for national development.
NAN reports that the event had in attendance, senior military and civilian staff of the DICON, Commanders and Commandants of Army units and formations within and outside Kaduna State, as well as retired senior officers.
The high point of the event was a prayer session shortly after the two unit prayer for the progress and development of the DICON, Kaduna State and Nigeria.(NAN)
