Golf, critical in enhancing comradeship, cooperation – Infantry Commander

The Commander, Infantry Corps of the Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, says the game of golf is critical in enhancing comradeship and cooperation.
Oluyede said this on Monday at the opening of a golf tournament as part of activities in commemoration of the Combat Arms Training (CAT) week at Jaji Military Cantonment in Kaduna.
According to Oluyede, as obtainable in golf, comradeship and cooperation in the military are critical towards enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.
He said, “The essence of golf as a sport is aimed at coming together to enhance comradeship.”
The commander said that golf was aimed at exercising the body for it to be fit for combat.
“All sports go in that direction to enable officers and soldiers to be very fit and sound enough for combat,”Oluyede said.
He added that the week was meant for the Infantry and Armoured Corps of the Nigerian Army to come together and train to see how their cooperation could be enhanced for better service. (NAN)
